What is Scarlet Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Before Your Procedure

Before Scarlet RF Microneedling, be prepared to share your medical history, including previous surgeries, medical conditions, drug allergies, and current medications at your initial consultation. This helps us ensure you’re a good candidate for this treatment.

You’ll also want to avoid excess sun exposure for two weeks before treatment, skip skincare products that irritate your skin for one week prior to the procedure, and avoid taking any blood thinners and NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen a week before your appointment. Additionally, make sure your face is clean and free of makeup on the day of your treatment.

Before we get started, we’ll apply a topical numbing cream to ensure you’re completely comfortable.

During Your Procedure

Scarlet RF Microneedling typically takes about 30 minutes for the face and longer for other areas of the body.

Prior to your treatment, we will apply a topical numbing cream to ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible! During treatment, Dr. Lee or one of our specialists will place the device on your skin and move it around the treatment area. The device will use specialized microneedles to make tiny punctures in the skin, and the radiofrequency energy will penetrate the skin’s deep layers to heat it. Together, they will trigger collagen production, stimulate cell renewal, and contract and tighten the skin, leaving you with smoother, healthier, and younger-looking skin.

After Your Procedure

Since there is no downtime with Scarlet RF microneedling, you will be able to go back to your everyday routine (work or home) immediately. You may have some redness and swelling afterward, and your skin may feel warm as if you had a mild sunburn. Fortunately, all these side effects will subside after 24 hours.

Understanding the Risks

As with most procedures, there are some risks you should be aware of when having Scarlet RF Microneedling treatment. Some of the most common risks to look out for include:

Less common risks include stinging or itching when cosmetics or skin care products are applied, dark or light spots on the skin, infection, or a cold sore flare up.

Results of Your Procedure

Results from a single treatment typically last about six months to a year. During your initial consultation, one of our providers will determine a treatment protocol with the number of treatments recommended for desired results.

Many patients return to their regular daily activities immediately following a Scarlet treatment as there is minimal downtime associated with the treatment. There is little to no bleeding or sensitivity as often experienced with other microneedling treatments.

A series of treatments are usually necessary to achieve the optimal results. How many treatments you’ll need will depend on the skin concerns you have and the results you’re looking for.
