After a year that included months of quarantine for many, there have been some pretty funny memes circulating the internet. There were dramatic computer-generated images showing cartoon characters after quarantine. Some people shared pictures of chubby babies with funny captions, while others created memes showing people crying about eating all of the quarantine snacks. Another popular round of memes featured jokes about the notorious college “Freshman 15” now being called the dreaded “Quarantine 15.”
All jokes aside, if you feel like you ate too many snacks and enjoyed too much couch time, it may be time to shed some of those quarantine pounds over the winter.
Though slight weight fluctuations throughout the year are normal, it’s a good idea to break bad habits and get back on track before things get too bad.
Adjusting Mindset and Setting Goals
One of the first steps to create and maintain healthy habits includes adjusting your mindset and setting goals. Here are a few tips:
- If you are still spending more time at home than usual, opt for healthy snack choices next time you go to the grocery store.
- See if your local gym is offering virtual classes right now, or find some workout videos online that you enjoy.
- Though we are heading into the colder winter months, you can always bundle up a bit and still go for a walk around the neighborhood.
Relaxing on the couch is fine as long as it’s combined with some other movement throughout the day. And once you start eating those healthy snacks and getting that exercise, we promise it will make you feel so much better!
Procedures Available at Aspire Plastic Surgery
If you are looking for faster results or additional help with a problem area, Aspire Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa also has a variety of treatments to help you.
Belly
If your belly isn’t as firm as you would like it to be, a tummy tuck may be able to help you achieve the results you want. This procedure, also called an abdominoplasty, removes loose and sagging skin and tissue from your abdomen and tightens the muscles before stitching them together.
Thighs
We also offer thigh lift surgery and liposuction, which can reduce excess soft tissue and fat along your inner and outer thighs when performed together. A thigh lift procedure can dramatically change the contour of your lower body as it gives you a smoother and tighter appearance.
Arms
As you age, excess skin and fat can accumulate between your underarm and elbow, causing it to sag and loosen. While exercise can build muscle, it can’t remove extra tissue – so this procedure is also often chosen by people who have lost weight. We offer an arm lift procedure, also called brachioplasty, which removes that extra skin and tissue to give you more toned-looking arms. After your arm lift, you can wear sleeveless shirts again without feeling embarrassed!
Chin
If your problem area is your chin and neck, we also offer facelifts. These surgical procedures reduce signs of aging by making incisions in front of and behind your ear, lifting areas of your face to tighten your skin. Liposuction is often also used during the procedure to remove fat from your neck or jowls.
So, How Can We Help You?
As you can see, we offer a variety of surgical options to help you get your body looking just like it did before quarantine – or better!
We are currently offering virtual or in-person consultations. Schedule your consultation today to discuss which procedure(s) will give you the results you want.
