What should you not do after Botox?
Make sure to avoid laying down or bending over for at least 4 hours after your Botox treatment. Additionally, avoid exercising, sweating, or excessive heat for the first 24 hours.
How long does Botox take to settle?
It can take 10-14 days for Botox to settle into its final appearance. If, after two weeks, you’re still not satisfied with your results, you can return for a dose adjustment.
What happens when Botox wears off?
Once Botox begins to fade, you’ll notice your fine lines and wrinkles begin to emerge again. Keep in mind that Botox does not make you look worse after it wears off – you’ve simply become adjusted to your excellent results.
Do I need to do anything to prepare for Botox?
You should stop taking any blood-thinning medications at least two weeks before your procedure, since these medications can increase your chances of bruising. If you have a regular workout regimen, make sure to exercise before your appointment.
Who should not get Botox?
Patients with allergies to any ingredients in Botox should not get it. Additionally, patients who have cardiovascular or respiratory medical concerns should not get Botox.
The first step will be to schedule your consultation at the office, located in the Fort Wayne area. You’ll meet with Dr. Lee or Jill who will examine your skin and talk about your goals for the procedure. Based on your skin quality and the depth and location of your creasing and wrinkles, they will recommend the best treatment for you.
Be prepared to share your medical history, including previous surgeries, medical conditions, drug allergies and current medications. You’ll need to stop taking medications and supplements that thin the blood one week before your appointment, including aspirin, ibuprofen, Excedrin, St. John’s Wart, Vitamin E, fish oil or omega-3s, ginko bilboa and ginseng. Tell Dr. Lee, Jill, Jennifer or Pam if you’ve had previous fillers or been treated with Botox or Dysport.
