• Have any skin disorders or immune diseases that could impair healing.
• Are using isotretinoin or Accutane or have used either within the last six to 12 months.
• Have a bacterial or viral infection of the skin or a history of cold sores.
• Use Botox or Dysport or facial fillers.

Side effects and risks of BBL Photofacials and ND-YAG Laser treatments include:

• Swelling, itching, crusting and tenderness as the treated area heals
• Redness in the treated area or pigment changes. Those with dark skin are more likely to find that the treated area is darker than surrounding skin. Bleaching and peels can help even skin tone, and often the skin fades over time on its own. Others may find the treated area is lighter than surrounding skin. This effect may fade after six to 12 months, or it may be permanent.
• Skin irritation, including acne flare-ups
• Bacterial, viral, or fungal infection of the skin
• Scarring, which is rare
