Injectable treatments are becoming more and more popular, but many people are confused or underinformed about the differences between various neurotoxin and filler treatments. Aspire Plastic Surgery and Med Spa offers a variety of injectable treatments, which can each be used to address different concerns.

To understand which injectable might be right for you, learn more about the different options below.

Neurotoxins

Botox®

Botox® is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment and has been on the market for many years. It uses a diluted form of botulinum toxin, which temporarily paralyzes the muscles. Botox® can be used to treat a wide range of conditions, including hyperhidrosis and migraines. Its most common cosmetic use is to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that cause them.

Dysport®

Dysport® is a product which works similarly to Botox® and uses the same key ingredients but has a different formula. This means that if you’ve had Botox® in the past, the number of units you’ll need to achieve similar results with Dysport® will vary. It also tends to diffuse more than Botox.

Because Dysport® and Botox® are similar products, deciding between the two is often simply dependent on personal preference. Your injector may guide you to choose one product over the other based on their personal experience and your unique needs.

Jeuveau®

Jeuveau® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults for a temporary period of time.

Fillers

Juvéderm®

Juvéderm® is another hyaluronic acid-based filler. It can be injected into the face to fill in moderate to severe nasolabial folds, which are sometimes called “marionette lines.” Unlike other hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvéderm® is a smooth consistency gel. The product also contains lidocaine, which numbs the treated area.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is an injectable filler which stimulates the body’s natural collagen response. This helps to fill in wrinkles and improves the skin’s appearance over time. The product is intended for use in the wrinkles around the nose and mouth, areas of fat loss in the face, or to minimize signs of aging in the hands.
